UCA Hosts First-Ever North America Alumni Reunion in New York City
New York, USA – 1 August 2026 — The University of Central Asia (UCA) marked a significant milestone by hosting its first-ever North America Alumni Reunion in New York City. The event brought together alumni from UCA's Graduate School of Development (GSD), School of Arts and Sciences (SAS), School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE), as well as graduates of the Central Asian Faculty Development Programme (CAFDP) from across the United States and Canada to reconnect, celebrate shared achievements, and strengthen professional and personal ties within the University's expanding international alumni network.
The reunion provided a valuable opportunity for alumni to reconnect with former classmates, exchange experiences, expand their professional networks, and celebrate the lasting impact of their UCA education.
A highlight of the event was the participation of Dr Shams Kassim-Lakha, Chairman of UCA's Board of Trustees, who met with alumni and delivered remarks recognising their accomplishments and contributions across a wide range of fields. He congratulated graduates on their achievements and encouraged them to continue serving as ambassadors of UCA's mission by demonstrating ethical leadership, advancing knowledge, and contributing to the sustainable development of Central Asia and beyond.
Alumni also watched an exclusive video message from Professor Christopher Gerry, Rector of the University of Central Asia, who reaffirmed the University's commitment to fostering a vibrant and connected global alumni community, and had the opportunity to engage with Malik Kotadia, UCA's Director of Advancement and Public Affairs.
As part of the programme, attendees received their exclusive UCA Alumni Pins and watched a special film celebrating UCA's 25-year journey and the achievements of its alumni around the world.
Beyond the formal programme, the reunion offered valuable opportunities for graduates to reconnect with friends and former classmates, build new professional relationships, exchange ideas, and reflect on the shared experiences that continue to unite the UCA community across borders.
