UCA Rector Meets Kyrgyz Minister of Science to Strengthen Collaboration in Higher Education and Research

Prof Christopher Gerry, Rector of the University of Central Asia (UCA), met with Mr Baktiyar Orozov, Minister of Science, Higher Education and Innovations of the Kyrgyz Republic. The meeting provided an opportunity to update the Minister on UCA’s efforts to contribute to and complement the work of the Ministry. The Minister acknowledged UCA’s role in strengthening the quality of education in the country and in enhancing the academic and research capacity of regional universities. The Minister also confirmed his Ministry’s readiness to expand its collaboration with UCA.

The discussions covered UCA’s current programmes and ongoing partnerships with Kyrgyz universities. They also addressed UCA’s plans to introduce new programmes and expand existing ones, as well as potential avenues for collaboration with the Ministry to strengthen research and promote innovation and entrepreneurship nationwide, with particular emphasis on mountain regions.
