A Journey of Innovation and Leadership
Back in 2016, as the University of Central Asia’ School of Arts and Sciences opened its doors for the very first time in Naryn, it marked not only a historic beginning for the institution, but also a symbolic moment for a bright and determined young boy from Tajikistan. That boy was Ozar Aini, and stepping through those doors was the start of a journey filled with curiosity, growth, and the pursuit of both knowledge and leadership.
Rooted in a rich intellectual heritage as the great-grandson of Sadriddin Aini — the renowned Tajik writer, and founder of modern Tajik literature — Ozar carries forward a legacy shaped by enlightenment and a deep devotion to knowledge.
During his years at UCA, Ozar studied Computer Science and fully immersed himself in both academic and extracurricular life. He explored interdisciplinary courses, developed a strong foundation in computer science, and discovered his dual passion for software development and data science. He also engaged in hands-on projects, working with technology in practical settings and collaborating with fellow students to solve complex problems.
Graduating in 2021, Ozar immediately began shaping his path in the tech world. To clarify his interests and future goals, he completed a Mobile Application Development bootcamp focused on Android OS and gained practical experience as a Business Analyst in the private sector.
Ozar also proudly served as the first President of the UCA SAS Alumni Association. In this role, he guided the Association through a period of significant growth, strengthening the UCA alumni community and fostering a culture of collaboration and engagement. He played a central role in launching the Association’s first-ever fundraising project, developing its branding and logo, and successfully raising $1,500 to support students.
Today, Ozar serves as ICT Specialist at the OSCE Programme Office in Dushnabe, where he ensures the smooth functioning of IT and communication systems and provides crucial ICT support. His role requires precision, adaptability, and strong communication—skills he began cultivating during his university years. For his dedication and contributions, he was awarded a Certificate of Recognition by OSCE.
Reflecting on his journey, Ozar says: “UCA is not only about studying inter-disciplinary courses, it's about building yourself as a person. It's about trying something new, sometimes even failing, understanding where you come from, and growing through both academic and extracurricular experiences.”
From a curious boy in Tajikistan to a skilled ICT professional and community leader, Ozar Aini’s story illustrates how UCA empowers youth to combine technical expertise with leadership and purpose—preparing them to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
