International students from the University of Central Asia School of Arts and Sciences (UCA SAS) Naryn campus took part in the Republican Festival “Kyrgyz Songs Performed by Foreign Students” in Bishkek.

The state-level festival brought together foreign students from across the country to celebrate the Kyrgyz language, cultural heritage, and intercultural dialogue. The event commemorated the 36th anniversary of the Law on the State Language of the Kyrgyz Republic and International Mother Language Day.

Representing UCA, nine international students from the School of Arts and Sciences delivered a performance featuring authentic Kyrgyz costumes, traditional song, and dance inspired by the Kyrgyz köch (nomadic seasonal migration). Their performance, enhanced by dynamic background video animation, was recognised for its aesthetics, elegance, and cultural authenticity, and received the nomination “Stage Beauty”.

Participants were evaluated on their ability to greet the audience in Kyrgyz, perform a traditional Kyrgyz song, and present a traditional dance. The judging panel assessed language proficiency, artistic interpretation, stage presence, cultural authenticity, and overall impression.

The festival provided an important platform for strengthening intercultural relations and demonstrating UCA’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage, linguistic diversity, and international friendship.
