Address by Aminjon Mirzoqandov, Head of the Education Department of the GBAO Region, at UCA's 2025 Graduation Ceremony
Dear Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr Shamsh Kasim Lakha,
Dear Deputy Head of the Department for International Relations of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, Zokirzoda Masrur,
Dear Rector of the University, Professor Christopher John Gerry,
Dear Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences of the University of Central Asia, Professor Khomyakov Maxim Borisovich,
Faculty and staff of the University of Central Asia,
Dear and esteemed graduates and parents, distinguished guests,
I am very happy, proud and honoured to be present at such a memorable and pleasant event to celebrate the convocation of Class 2025 at the University of Central Asia in this place for science and for education.
Taking this opportunity, I would like to sincerely congratulate the graduates of this university and the occasion which is happening on the eve of the 28th anniversary of one of the most important holidays for the great Tajik nation – the Day of National Unity – on behalf of the executive authority of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast and personally on behalf of the Chairman of the Region, His Excellency Mirzonabot Alisher Khudoberdi.
It is worth noting that the sectors of education and science received priority and have been at the forefront of the country's domestic policy since the first days of the state’s independence in our country.
These sectors play an important role in the economic and social development and progress in our county. It cannot be ignored that without obtaining comprehensive knowledge and qualified and educated specialists, there will be no development and progress. All of the changes and progress take their origin from school and education and are acquired further in the prestigious secondary and higher educational institutions in the country and abroad. With such requirements, and based on the instructions and guidance of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and the perspective plan of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, a real and solid foundation is being laid for the development of the education and science sector.
The President of our country pays special attention to this direction in each of his speeches and had noted in one of them: “Only those countries can develop and maintain their deserved status and place at the time of the rapid progress of science and technology, which have literate and educated people, scientists with highly qualified expertise, and creative individuals who have mastered the knowledge and skills to use modern technology.”
One of the ways to achieve such goals was the establishment of an international university of Central Asia in 2000 in the mountainous regions. It is worth noting that since its establishment,
the School of Arts and Sciences at the UCA has prepared specialists in two majors, the global economy and earth and environmental sciences, which are important for the mountainous regions. The graduates of this university are currently working within the country.
It can be noted with confidence and hope that the graduates of the class of 2025 will also make a significant contribution to the further development of their nation and state with a high sense of dedication and patriotism by using the acquired modern knowledge.
Today we do not only celebrate the graduation ceremony of the students and citizens of Tajikistan but also students from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the Russian Federation. The graduation of such a diverse class is a good sign and evidence of stability, unity, fraternity, and peace throughout our beloved Tajikistan.
With such good intentions, I would like to once again sincerely congratulate the esteemed graduates on such an unforgettable moment in their lives and wish them good health, prosperity, and significant achievements in their future activities.
I would like to express my immense gratitude to the faculty of this university for preparing such professional and competent specialists today.
Thank you very much for your attention.
